The Software sector in India came into reckoning only from the late 90s, but since then the sector has been able to grow at over 30% annually. And now the sector is the largest private sector employment generator with over quarter million job additions every year.

The sector depends on US and Europe for over 80% of their revenues, and thus were hit hard in the year 2008 and 2009. But with pick up in demand towards the fag end of 2009, due to the increasing need for the US and European companies to cut down on their costs, the Indian software sector is zooming once again.

The sector has resumed large scale recruitments in the last few weeks, and it is set to record a wonderful growth rate in the year 2010. And India could only benefit immensely due to this sector, as demand for housing and infrastructure will only go up further without any government aid.

The government of India has been spending lot of money in improving the education system in the country which is helping in creating a huge educated work force, with excellent skill sets. That comes handy for the US companies to cut down on their manpower costs by anything between 30% to 60%.
