Children are prone to infection very easily. Particularly, infants who are in their crawling age and toddlers, tend to pick up whatever they can lay hands on from the floors, shelves and put them into their mouth. Mothers should ensure that the floor and other places in the house where the child can move should be kept clean always and should be disinfected daily.

Great care should be taken while giving food to the babies. Their utensils, bowls and spoons should be kept separately and washed with detergent. They should be sterilized properly before using. The clothes should be washed and dry under direct sunlight. The sun light can kill the germs in the baby’s clothes. The clothes should be soft and kept neatly. It is good to keep the child’s things separately.

As the child grow, introduce new foods like juices, shakes, soups, vegetable etc. Teach the child to eat on his own. That way he would relish his food. The child may spill initially, but they will learn to eat gradually.

Infants and children may take the mobile phone to their mouth. A study has revealed that the mobile phones have more germs than that of toilet seats.

If we observe the young generation, they are so crazy about losing their weight, not for staying healthy but they feel it is glamorous to have a skinny body. They become mal nourished not because of unavailability but because they want to flaunt a glamorous body. They do not eat healthy and whatever they eat would be junk foods.

It is very important for young people, especially women to maintain good health. Only if they do so, can they give birth to healthy babies and would be able to bring them up well. In a family, it is the women who takes care of the entire family and for her to keep the health of the family, she has to be healthy first.

If we eat well right from the beginning, we will have a healthy old age. People who suffer from illness when they grow old, would have ignored their health when they were young.

Conjunctivitis is the disease where the conjunctiva of the eyes get inflamed. They are commonly termed ‘pink eye’ or ‘Madras eye’. It is characterized by redness of the eyes and swelling in the eyes. There will be yellowish discharge from the eyes. Conjunctivitis may happen due to viral infections or bacterial infection. The disease generally develop in summers in countries where there is humid temperature. The conjunctivitis is air borne disease and hence communicable.

Chocolates are irresistible, whether it is for the children, women or adults. The preference is all the same. It is very rare that somebody says no to chocolate. They might cut down on sweets, but when they see that bar of chocolate in their refrigerator or on the shopping window, they just cannot help themselves and go about grabbing one of them.

Chocolates have very less nutritional value. They should be given in restricted quantities to children. Biscuits are better options than chocolate. Biscuits also come with chocolate filled, nuts filled etc. Children tend to ignore other food if they have access to too many chocolates. It is better to have a supervision on the food that they eat and give chocolates only on few occasions.

Chocolates are complete no- no for children who are suffering from juvenile diabetes. It is always good if adults though healthy keep away from chocolates and sweets , if they are more than 35 years of age.

Migraine is often seen in youngsters now a days. A recent study says over 30 million people in United States suffer from Migraine. Migraine is a neurological disorder where the patients suffers severe headache which could be unilateral with prolonged nausea and sensory complications.
